Introduce The Cultural University (Mandalay) was officially opened on 5 November 2001 under Decree No. 21/98. National Law and Order Restoration Commission. In the early days of Culture University, U San Win assumed the position of Chancellor in accordance with the National Law and Order Restoration Committee Meeting No. (46/2000). In 2006, U Ngwe Htun assumed the position of Rector of the University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay) on 1 December 2006 with the promotion of Rector U San Win to Director of the Archaeology Department. In May 2009, U Tin Soe, President of the University of Arts and Culture (Yangon), was handed over to the University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay) after the retirement of President Ngwe Htun. U Maung Maung Zaw Htet has been the principal since May 4, 2009.

Location and area

The construction implementation plan of Mandalay Cultural University was launched on February 8, 1999. Located on Shwesaryan Pagoda Road, Ohn Chaw Village, Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Division, with an area of 41.35 acres (167,300 m2).

Program

The University offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree program covering four disciplines: Music, Dramatic Art, Painting, and Sculpture. The duration of study for the Bachelor's degree is three years for the Bachelor's degree and four years (full-time) for the Bachelor's (Honours) degree in their respective specialties. Every student is required to complete compulsory academic subjects such as English, Burmese literature, mathematics, and cultural sciences and history. With the exception of Burmese literature, the language of instruction for most courses is English.
