Introduce | Taipei University of Marine Technology (English: Taipei University of Marine Technology; abbreviated as TUMT), referred to as Beihai University of Science and Technology.
Founded in 1966, the school is located on Shezi Island, where the Keelung River and the Danshui River meet. Formerly known as China Maritime College (China Maritime College), China Maritime Commercial College, and Taipei Institute of Ocean Technology. On August 1, 2017, it was renamed Taipei Ocean University of Science and Technology [1]. There are Tamsui campus and Shilin campus Beihai University of Science and Technology is one of the three domestic colleges and universities with marine development characteristics (the other two are National Taiwan Ocean University and National Kaohsiung University of Ocean Science and Technology [now National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology]). It is a maritime professional institution with a long history. And long-term cooperation with the government to develop marine policy. So far, it has cultivated many maritime and shipping talents, government officials and corporate giants. The school is positioned as a "pragmatic and practical teaching-oriented" university. Beihai University of Science and Technology currently has the School of Marine Business, the School of Life and People's Livelihood and the School of Innovation and Design, with a total of 3 colleges, 14 departments, 3 master's classes, and 1 post-bachelor bachelor's program (Department of Navigation). |
