| Introduce | Shantou Vocational and Technical College is located in the beautiful coastal city of Shantou. Shantou is a national special economic zone and a sub-central city in Guangdong Province. It is located at an important connection point between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the economic zone on the west coast of the Taiwan Strait. It is listed as a national comprehensive transportation hub by the State Council. On October 13, 2020, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited the Shantou Special Economic Zone in person. In February 2021, the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government issued policies to support Shantou in building a socialist modernized and dynamic special economic zone with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
Shantou Vocational and Technical College is a municipal full-time comprehensive college and a high-level professional group construction school in Guangdong Province. Party building work model colleges and departments to cultivate project establishment units. There are four campuses, namely the Headquarters, Jinyuan Campus, Xinjin Campus and Dongdun Campus, covering an area of 674,000 square meters (including 450 acres under acquisition) and a construction area of 283,000 square meters. There are 8 departments and 55 majors in the Department of Computer Science, Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Economics and Management, Department of Foreign Languages, Department of Art and Sports, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Natural Sciences, and Department of Preschool Education. There are 13,588 higher vocational students, 1,900 higher vocational students and more than 500 adult education students. |
